HackInnovision is Innovision 2026’s flagship 12-hour hackathon by Opencode NIT Rourkela and DSC Rourkela. Build prototypes across technology tracks, including beginner-friendly options, followed by a three-hour judging round. Problem statements are tentative; prize details will be announced soon
The Velocity Vortex competition challenges teams to race flying vehicles through an obstacle course, with the primary goal of achieving the fastest lap time. Teams get a brief 5-minute preparation period before the race starts, and once that time is up, no physical intervention with the vehicle is allowed. For a chance at extra points, vehicles can optionally pick up a provided ferromagnetic (steel) washer payload before the course and deliver it to the staging area afterward. The final score is calculated from the vehicle's lap ranking combined with any earned payload points. The teams with the highest overall scores will advance to a semi-final round, and the top five of those teams will then compete in the final race.
CYBORG DEATH RACE Race through the ultimate flagship robotics challenge at Innovision’26! Design and control your robot across a demanding arena filled with obstacles, hurdles, and rough terrain. Test your bot’s speed, precision, and maneuverability as you race against time and rivals to claim victory.
Stellar Night, the flagship event of AstroNITR during INNOVISION, is an overnight stargazing session that brings participants closer to the wonders of the night sky. Through telescope observations, participants can explore planets, stars, constellations, and other celestial objects. The event offers a unique opportunity to experience astronomy firsthand, fostering curiosity and appreciation for the cosmos under the serene night sky.
Aeroprix is the flagship aeromodelling competition of UDAAN, the official Aeromodelling Club of NIT Rourkela. Bringing together aviation enthusiasts, innovators, and aspiring engineers from across the country, Aeroprix challenges participants to design, build, and fly high-performance radio-controlled aircraft.
Innov-A-Thon 2026 is an entrepreneurship and innovation challenge organized by E-Cell as part of Innovision 2026. It encourages participants to think creatively, solve real-world problems, and develop impactful ideas. The event focuses on innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking, providing participants with a platform to transform bold ideas into practical solutions and meaningful impact.
Nebula Nexus is a celestial-themed maze-solving challenge by the Algorithm & Programming Society (APS), NIT Rourkela, proposed for Innovision. Participants navigate through a maze while solving aptitude and logical reasoning questions at different checkpoints. They can choose from Easy, Medium, or Hard levels, each offering varying complexity and scoring. The event combines strategy, accuracy, logical thinking, and time management in an engaging competitive format.
Omega: The Ultimate Treasure Hunt" is a thrilling adventurous event where logic, strategy and mathematical prowess are your keys to uncovering hidden treasures. In this event, participants will form teams and set out on a campus-wide hunt, following clues, solving puzzles, and cracking codes that lead to the ultimate prize. Each step of the way, they will encounter challenges that test their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and teamwork. The clues are designed to push their mathematical limits while keeping the excitement high.
WebCloneMania is a timed web development competition in which participants recreate a website shown by the organisers at the beginning of the event. The goal is to reproduce its visual design, layout, responsiveness, and key interactions as closely as possible within the given time.
Chem-E Prix is a contest where students design, build and operate a vehicle that uses chemical reactions to travel and stop after a specific given distance. The event provides a platform for students to apply the concepts of engineering and innovate a solution in a practical setting.
Mazehunt is a fun, space-themed maze challenge where participants work in pairs to explore, solve clues, and complete seven different checkpoints. Each stage tests skills like observation, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, and quick decision-making. The event turns a simple maze into a journey through space, making participants think, explore, compete, and enjoy the experience together.
